Blog 10-PR for troubled celebrities

One celebrity that has gone through alot is Lindsay Lohan. I think young celebrities are out of control and it is because of the fact that they never get any privacy. As for gettin Lohan back, I think the fact that her having someone, Samantha Ronson, is great. She surely has calmed down alot, and she looks happy. She is definately doing a great job from staying away from paparazzi because I haven't seen alot of pictures of her, or the fact that shes doing stupid stuff in front of them. As for acting or music, I think she needs to focus on one instead of both until she gets totally back on to her feet.

Blog 9-Super Bowl Ads

Many famous advertisments are shown during the Super Bowl, NFL Championship game. As for being a highly viewed television program, the prices for advertisement space can cost millions. One particular Super Bowl ad that is one of my favorites is the E-Trade Baby.

The commercial I'm in love with right now is the Allstate Commercial for Parent Teen Driving. The message is very powerful and moving. I actually cried because it made me think about how I used to be a careless driver. I was always speeding, doing illegal turns, and I also got in two accidents (one was not my fault). However, the commercial made me think about what would've happened if I killed someone or myself and how that would affect my loved ones. My mother was always yelling at me for the way I drove and never did I once actually thought about the consequences. My last accident was the end of my car because it was totaled, and I was a split second ahead from getting killed. Luckily, the car had hit my side end. I still do not have a car since senior year of high school and I'm fine with that. I am just thankful that I am still alive.

Blog 7-Message Appeal

Commercials I do like

Diet Pepsi Max commercial-What is Love?
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zkrfIJyTKco
This commercial has good humor messages. The commercial is about people falling asleep and the new Pepsi Max will help give you an extra boost to help you stay awake. The commercial gets its inspiration from the Night at the Roxbury where they do the head bob to an awesome techno song, What is love? The commercial also includes celebrity endorsers such as Busta Rhymes, LL Cool J, Macy Gray, and Missy Elliot. They are all have trustworthiness, expertise, physical attractiveness, respect, and similarity.

AT&T - Milky Minutes commercial
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KgFw7o5hQtc
This commercial also includes humor messages. The commercial is about AT&T giving you roll over minutes so that your minutes that are not used doesn't go to waste. In the commercial, the mother says not to waste those milky minutes and that her sister could use them when in fact her sister is lactose in tolerant.

Commercials I do not like

Axe Dark Temptation: Chocolate Man
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FgfzdgWgEZ4
This commercial includes sex appeal and humor that is inappropriate. I hate this commercial because it protrays girls as animals. Men probably love this commercial because what guy wouldn't want to be swarmed by a bunch of almost naked girls.

Geico Commercial-Cavemen at the Airport
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H02iwWCrXew
This commercial includes humor. I do not think this commercial gets my attention at all. It is so dumb though that it does, however, make me laugh; it is not an effective commercial.

Creative Brief

Creative Brief Template
Background: Gatorade's commercials are similar all around the world. The commercial's are directed toward athletes or just being active. Gatorade is known to be the thirst quencher; it focuses on fueling the body for better performance while keeping you hydrated. The Japan Gatorade Commercial is successful because it shows famous athletes and the music is upbeat.

Audience: Gatorade's target audience is active people especially athletes.

Objectives: Gatorade's objective is to get consumers to purchase gatorade products. They also promote an active lifestyle. They always show people playing a sport which motives viewers to do some kind of physical activity.

The Message: If I could get one sentece through all the clutter, it would be to stay active and be healthy; you only have one life and one body. Fuel your body to do things harder, better, faster, and stronger.

The Medium: The best way to reach the audience is to have something that is creative and catchy, that way people will remember it. Another key to reaching the audience's attention is music. Many commercials are known for certain jingles like the Subway's 5 dollar foot long or zoom zoom zoom for Mazda.

Anything Else: Mandatories for the Gatorade commercials would be showing famous athletes. The commercial must make the audience want to get up and be active.

The Deadline: We need to know what is the most popular sport right now and who are the favorite athletes. The message should get to the audience from events for maximum effect.

Billboards

There is a Jesus loves you billboard near campus that I remember. The billboard was all white with black letters that said Jesus Loves You" and that was it. I think that it caught my attention because I never really see any billboards about religion; I see alot about foods such as Hooter's and McDonald's, men's clubs, jewelry, etc. I liked it because it was simple, but catchy.

Flat Earth

I like Flat Earth's brand positioning, "they're not impossible, they're IMPOSSIBLY GOOD." Flat Earth is trying to say their products are too good to be true. They are great tasting and also healthy for you. The flying pig is marketing strategy to use for Flat Earth products because people usually say yeah ill believe it when pigs fly. Althought I love their brand positioning I do not think that they have successfully marketed their product to people. I did not hear about Flat Earth products until we mentioned it in class. I do think the commercial was, however, catchy with the cute little piggy and cool music playing in the background.

Ethical Issues In Marketing

We as people face ethical issues in marketing everyday. In class, we discussed about marketing to young audiences. I believe that it is not only the company's fault for marketing to young audiences, but as well as the parents. I think parents should take control of what their kids are exposed to especially television. It's crazy to see kids maturing so much faster. I also don't understand why little kids have cell phones; I actually just got one this year as a matter of fact. If parents do allow their kids to get one, they should monitor the calls made in and out.

Brand Identity

Whenever I see a Kashi commercial, I immediately think of going on a diet. The commercials usually shows active individuals telling us to stay active and eat right. Made from seven whole grains these products are packed full of protein and fiber.

Kashi stands for something that is nutritious and tasty. When I hear Kashi, I immediately think all natural and healthy. When my friends hear Kashi, they also agree that it is healthy and great tasting. Kashi is known for helping people achieve a healthier lifestyle. Kashi's logo has Kashi written and a picture of a leaf on the side; this signifies to me that the product is all natural and healthy because the ingredients come from mother nature.

You should choose Kashi products because it will make you feel good about eating, and it promotes you to achieving a healthier lifestyle. Obesity rates keeps increasing and that is why I think we need to be promoting healthy eating habits and being active.

The top ten U.S. Ad Agencies

1. J. Walter Thompson
2. Leo Burnett Worldwide
3. McCann Erickson Worldwide
4. BBDO Worldwide
5. Grey Worldwide
6. DDB Worldwide
7. Ogilvy & Mather Worldwide
8. Foote, Cone, & Belding Worldwide
9. Y&R Advertising
10. Publicis Worldwide

My favorite ads came from J. Walter Thompson and Grey Worldwide. The first website I visited was J. Walter Thompson; the commercial that I liked was the Energizer one for Wilkinson Quattro. I thought that the commercial was hilarious watching a baby train for a match with the father. I also thought that Eminem's song, Lose Yourself, fit perfectly with the commercial. Another commercial I liked was the one for Car Rental; it almost made me cry because it was so funny. I know how that girl felt when she saw that car because everybody dreams of getting a car when they turn sixteen, but the funny thing was when you figured out it was only a rental.

The next commercial that caught my attention was Toshiba from Grey Worldwide. I really enjoyed the music; it was sort of like what a robot would sound like. Not only was the music catchy, but I liked the fact that they told us that they want to make things bigger and better.
The Coke commercial, however, was kind of dissapointing. The commercial really didnt't make me want to go and get a Coke Zero. The commercial did not tell me anything about the product or even make me want to buy it.
